Holy crap. The ESO just released findings of an earthlike planet. Only 20 lightyears way. This is ridiculous.

The first extra-solar planet was confirmed in 1992. That's just 15 years ago. In a decade and a half, we've gone from no knowledge whatsoever about the existence of these things, to being able to say that this new planet is in the right orbital zone to allow liquid water.

I mean, damn.
